Overview of communication jamming technology

1. Preface

Communication interference generally refers to all the electronic radiation that affects and destroys the detection of useful signals by communication equipment, which is based on communication investigation and its main task is to interfere with the receiving equipment.



The best jamming is the ability to completely suppress enemy wireless communications. Its basic principle is that the interference signal can cover the communication signal in the time domain, frequency domain, power domain and airspace and othe r multi-dimensional space, and the interference signal is related to the waveform of the communication signal, so as to achieve the suppression on the multi-dimensional space. The corresponding communication anti-jamming technology is to avoid or weaken the influence of interference signals on the communication system.



2. Classification of communication interference

Artificial interference, according to its production method, is divided into active interference and negative interference in radio communication countermeasures. Actively interfere with the transmission or retransmission of an electromagnetic wave by a transmitter; Negative interference is the use of interference itself does not produce electromagnetic radiation to consciously change the propagation of electromagnetic waves. According to the different generation methods and action principles of interference, communication interference technologies can be classified as follows:



1) Basic interference

Radio communication active jamming, from the tactical consideration of the general use of two completely different means, called basic jamming. One is to use jammers to emit some kind of interference signal to cover the local signal spectrum in some way. This kind of covering interference is usually called suppressive interference; The second is analog interference or confusing interference, often called deceptive interference (or decoy interference).


2) Dexterous interference

In view of the limitations of traditional blocking jamming, such as high implementation cost, complex system composition and large power consumption, smart jamming achieves "small to large" efficient jamming effect by interfering with key information or key frames in communication links, thus significantly improving jamming efficiency.


3) Intelligent interference

The intelligent jammer has the ability of real-time situational awareness, learning and decision-making for the target communication system, and can adapt to different electromagnetic environments and cope with different jamming objects. From the tactical purpose, through the multi-dimensional cognition and learning of time-frequency and air-power, waveform, network and system, formulate and implement different optimal decisions to achieve the most efficient, high cost-effectiveness and dynamic interference.

 

With the development and application of modern radio communication technology, communication reconnaissance and jamming technology are developing rapidly. In order to improve the reliability of communication system information transmission and resist various forms of interference, people have adopted various communication anti-interference technologies to protect the communication system to transmit information accurately, real-time and continuously under the interference environment.
